Hello friends,
If you got my previous blog post, sorry for being so abrupt. I was in an internet cafe and I didn't know when I'd be able to get on a computer again. I am in Doi Chang Coffee shop in Chiang Rai. It's currently 90 degrees with 100% humidity, and I feel great! I've been her less than 24 hours, and I have already fallen in love with the place. The past couple hours I've been on a "Amazing Prayer Race" around the city. I've gotten to walk through a very colorful and odorous market, tripped and almost broke my camera, and talked Thai to monks! Oh, and the coffee is great, too. The YWAM staff here have been amazing, and although I don't have time to upload photos now, I've been taking shots when I can and look forward to uploading some!
Missing all you guys already,
Jimmy

Day 1: Prologue
So if you've stumbled across this blog, then you probably know I'm going to Thailand for a couple weeks. I'm going as a youth leader for a team put together by an organization titled Youth With A Mission (or YWAM). As I wait for my ibiza Rhapsody to sync up I'll tell you a bit about where I'm going and what I'll be doing there.
I'm going to a village called Chiang Rai in Northern Thailand. It's a couple hours by plane from Bangkok, or a ridiculous number of hours by bus. Lucky me, I'll be traveling by the latter. It's a long story involving several dozen books being sent individually to Troy's house. Anyway, I hope to take some good pictures and upload them for your viewing pleasure, and maybe even talk about some of the people I'll meet or be working with. In the meantime, here's a picture of the first encounter I had with Thai culture. It's Sagat, a Muay Thai boxer from the epic game Street Fighter II.
