I'm going to a village called Chiang Rai in Northern Thailand. It's a couple hours by plane from Bangkok, or a ridiculous number of hours by bus. Lucky me, I'll be traveling by the latter. It's a long story involving several dozen books being sent individually to Troy's house. Anyway, I hope to take some good pictures and upload them for your viewing pleasure, and maybe even talk about some of the people I'll meet or be working with. In the meantime, here's a picture of the first encounter I had with Thai culture. It's Sagat, a Muay Thai boxer from the epic game Street Fighter II.

Day 1: Prologue
So if you've stumbled across this blog, then you probably know I'm going to Thailand for a couple weeks. I'm going as a youth leader for a team put together by an organization titled Youth With A Mission (or YWAM). As I wait for my ibiza Rhapsody to sync up I'll tell you a bit about where I'm going and what I'll be doing there.

So I love that your first bit of Thai culture has come to you through an American video game ;). Can't wait for the, er, more authentic views of Thailand!
